The Tollway received the Distinguished System Award for Enterprise Systems for its Storm Operations Management System as part of the Geospatial Professional Network’s Exemplary Systems in Geospatial Awards.
 
The international award recognizes outstanding applications of geospatial technology that improve operations, support decision-making and deliver meaningful results.
 
The Storm Operations Management System brings together information about winter maintenance activities in one place, giving Tollway teams a real-time view of operations across the entire roadway system.
 
By tracking storm conditions, equipment deployment and maintenance activities, the technology helps employees coordinate snow and ice removal, make informed decisions and use resources efficiently.
 
The system also improves communication and coordination among Roadway Maintenance, Traffic Operations and other departments involved in winter weather response.
 
The recognition reflects the expertise and collaboration of Tollway employees and its consulting partners who developed and implemented the technology, combining their knowledge of roadway maintenance with innovative tools to strengthen winter operations.
