Inside the Tollway

With more vehicles on the road in summer and more opportunities for distractions behind the wheel, the Illinois Tollway is supporting the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association's Put Your Mind in Drive safety campaign.

Global Road Safety Week — June 22–26, 2026 – is uniting transportation agencies, industry partners and drivers around a shared commitment to reducing distracted driving and saving lives.

Whether it's a text, phone call, eating, adjusting your music, programming a navigation app or any other distraction, taking your attention off the road can put you, your passengers and others at risk.

The Illinois Tollway encourages drivers to put away distractions, stay focused on the road ahead and make safety a priority on every trip.
